Here are a selections of photos taken on 11/Sept/2011 of a Fin Whale that became beached on the sands of Courtmacsherry bay. Importantly in was on the Kilbrittain side of the bay, because after some persuasion with the other gentle folk of Courtmacsherry the bones were eventually put on display at Kilbrittan. This fin whale had an infection that affected her guidance. Once the tide went out and lacking the support of the water, she was suffocated by her own weight.
