Dingle Harbour and Approaches Surveying.

Over the winter of 2017 and spring of 2018 HARPY was engaged in surveying for the development of Dingle harbour and its approaches. Using survey-grade equipment of our sister company SUBSEA SURVEY SERVICES Ltd, we provided multibeam surveys for the main contractors L&M KEATINGS to allow them assess dredging progress and remove high-points on the seabed.

While there I had a plan to revisit the site of the Spanish Armada vessel Santa Maria de la Rosa off Stromboli Rock with sidescan sonar but very regretfully due to weather this never occurred. This video was taken in April 2018 but snow is still visible on the hills towards

HARPY did another survey while based in Dingle - a benthic survey of Cahersiveen harbour and approaches which was completed in 1 day.

Dingle now has a fantastic harbour with great marina services and is highly recommended for all sailors and visitors alike. Beidh fáilte mór romhat gan dabht!
